Flew in from Oregon to Indianapolis late afternoon arrival. Hadn't been to Indiana in 16 years so not sure where to go for dinner. Since we still had a 90 minute drive dinner in Brownsburg sounded nice. My dad was driving and didn't want to go very far off I74. Tegra seemed appealing. Too bad I didn't read the reviews more closely. Service was a snails pace. They were not busy, but our 3 top seemed annoying to them. We ordered a few items directly from the menu and the waitress said no we don't serve that. ????? It's on the menu! I was told these are old menus. ?????huh????? There was no way I was ordering sushi in the midwest! Scary thought! The entrees finally arrived. So slow!!! The Miso soup is good. My Salad was average and I had ordered it bc it came with a spring roll. Well it didn't and once again was informed they don't fix it that way anymore. I just looked right into her eyes and that wasn't acceptable. So she brought me some avocado. Whatever. My son had the breaded pork cutlet. It was SO Good. Huge and Served on a bed of finely shredded cabbage with a very delicious sauce drizzled and on the side for dipping. Dad had the grilled lemon shrimp he said was quite good.
Quick sushi to go is the way to go. Wish I had time to enjoy the cozy and quiet atmosphere.
Then we waited forever for the check. Strange place....kind of passive aggressive.
Good food. Good prices. Good service. I had lunch there and everything was perfect.
Firstly, the staff had no idea what I was asking for over the phone when I ordered. I was saying "Chicken Teriyaki bento with Gyoza" as it appeared on the menu. It took a good few minutes before they understood (It wasn't a "lost in translation" thing as the staff seemed to speak clear english). The staff were friendly when I picked up and the restaurant seemed nice enough.
Unfortunately, the food was awful. The chicken teriyaki had seemingly no flavour, the side of vegetables was two pieces brocolli, two pieces of carrot, two pieces of zuchinni, very underwhelming. The rice was dry and clumpy and the chicken breast was far too big to be natural and tasted almost reformed. There didn't seem to be any teriyaki sauce on there either. The sushi was a similar story- dry and tasteless. I won't be going to Tegry again.
